HOW IT WORKS
01

SELECT CLOTHING
Use your tablet or mobile device to browse the online catalogue. Select your item (demo highlights a sporty outfit and dress).
02

PICK POINT
IN ROOM
Hold your device up in front of you and tap a point on the screen where you want the mannequin to appear.
03

PICK COLOUR AND SIZE
Select the product colour and size. The fabric textures update almost instantly.
04

SEE IT IN MOTION
As well as viewing high levels of material detail in a static pose, you can also view the clothing in motion. This added dynamic truly brings the products to life.
BEHIND THE SCENE

HOW?
The development of the demo initially started out using Google's Project Tango tablet development kit and Unity's game development platform. Even the early iterations provided a great insight into the immersive and interactive environment that augmented reality provides.

In recent months we have been working with Apple's new augmented reality framework (ARKit) and Apple's second generation iPad. This set-up is highlighted in the demo.

The computer generated clothing items are created using 3D software commonly used in the Visual Effects industry. To get this data into Unity, we created our own data file format. This allows us to use highly detailed geometry meshes whilst working within the limitations of a realtime environment.

Great care is taken through the look development phase to ensure the highest quality visuals. Physically plausible shading models and post production touches all play a part in the drive for photo realism.
